Sven Mislintat held a press conference on Sunday morning. Among other things, he spoke about the contract situations of Kempf, Castro and Didavi. All three are expected to be kept. With Castro and Kempf, the talks are still open, with Didavi it is apparently only about details, writes the kicker.
In addition, the VfB gets a new goalkeeper coach, reports the kicker! From Gladbach, the Bad Cannstatt Steffen Krebs moves to the Neckar! Krebs was between 2009 and 2015 already active at VfB and coached the U14, U17 and U19. In 2015, he moved to Hoffenheim, where he got to know Gregor Kobel and Pellegrino Matarazzo, among others. Whether Uwe Gospodarek will still fulfill his contract and remain at VfB until June 2022 is not yet entirely clear, but will be the likely option.
Since nothing else exciting is happening at Mercedesstrasse, let’s take another quick look at the situation at e.V.
On July 18, all nine club advisory boards, two presidium members and the president will be newly elected at the MV merged from 2020 and 2021. The applications and declarations of intent so far:
- Claus Vogt wants to be president again
- Pierre-Enric Steiger of the Björn Steiger Foundation wants to challenge him for this post.
- It is not yet clear whether Volker Zeh will try again. He had announced it at least
For the presidium, for which there are two possible places, apply:
- Rainer Adrion, youth coach and active in the departments for many years.
- Christian Riethmüller, former opponent of Claus Vogt
- Markus Scheurer, RWT
- The previous advisory board of the club Christof Seeger Financial expert Hubert Deutsch and ex-professional Silvio Meißner, but both only want to join Steiger as president in the presidium. How that is to function, is still open, because all candidates stand naturally individually to the choice.
There are nine places on the club’s advisory board that need to be filled, three in each of the categories „Sports and Club“, „Members and Fans“ and „Business and Society“, for each of which there are different requirement profiles. Applications for these can be submitted until May 18. For all the other positions mentioned above, applications are still open for one week until April 19.
The election campaign has now already picked up a bit of steam, because Daimler / Mercedes-Benz has issued a statement supporting the company’s representative on the Supervisory Board of VfB AG, Wilfried Porth. There is a quote from him in which he admits to having known early on about possible disagreements in the vote to spin off the professional department from the club into an AG. That is, according to the statement, not true. And if the evil media continued to ask questions like that, it goes on to say a bit tearfully, VfB should look for someone better. The cooperation between VfB and Daimler has existed for many decades in various forms. 11.75% of VfB currently belongs to Daimler. However, Daimler’s representative on the VfB Supervisory Board, Wilfried Porth, is very controversial among VfB members and fans because he would put his own interests before those of VfB and play power games. Porth is also controversial internally at Daimler as head of human resources.
Oh, and yesterday was the last Monday match! Fitting that Leverkusen plays Hoffenheim for it. The last time two teams meet, the fans can travel along in the players‘ bus…
